One of the first, and the oldest surviving African Roots & Reggae Music Group to reside in Germany. Formed in April 1981, has over the years worked it’s way up to one of the most respected, disciplined and hard-working Band on the Live scene all over Europe.

The musical direction is a mixture of authentic African Rhythms, Dancehall, Lovers Rock, and Roots Reggae, making their repertoire unique with varieties of Rhythms heard only at Vitamin X concerts. They have traveled all over Europe & the then Soviet Union, played with almost all the known Stars of African Music & Reggae. Festivals like Glastonbury, Africa Oye,(GB), Summer Jam, Chiemsee Reggae Summer, Jubek,(D), Afro Festival (DK), African Festival Delft, Melkweg festival,(NL) Donau Insel, Irie & Wiesen Sunsplash (A), belong to their successful rounds. They have shared stages with uncountable world-known Stars such as The Wailers, Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers, Kassav, Third World, Alpha Blondy, Manu Dibango, Osibisa, Lucky Dube, Santana, Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear, Yellowman, Luciano, Kool and the Gang, Maxi Priest, Steel Pulse, Backed Eek-a-Mouse on his European Tour, to mention only a few. Vitamin X stands for a unique alliance between African vitality and Caribbean easiness. Promoters enjoy working with this band, being simply professional, reliable, friendly, and disciplined, playing their music with love, happiness, and respect for their audience.

Vitamin X war die erste Band aus Afrika, die es wagte, afrikanische und
karibische Rhythmen zu kombinieren und auf deutschen und europäischen
Bühnen zu präsentieren. Seit ihrer ersten Stunde ist Vitamin X aktiv und
energiegeladen in der Szene unterwegs. Seit 1981 tourt Vitamin X durch
Europa und die Welt und gilt somit zu Recht als Pionier der Afro- und
Reggae-Bands in Deutschland. Vitamin X ist inzwischen in nahezu jedem
europäischen Land aufgetreten, sogar in der ehemaligen UdSSR, als erste
und überhaupt als einzige afrikanische Band, die jemals vom
Kulturministerium der Sowjet-Union eingeladen wurde. Auf den meisten
renommierten Festivals wie Glastonbury Festival (UK), Africa Oye Festival (UK), African Festival Delft (NL),
Masala –Weltbeat – Festival (D), Chiemsee Reggae Summer Festival (D), Summer
Jam (D), Donau Insel Fest (A) Afrika Tage München und Wien sind Vitamin X
alte Bekannte und sie teilten sich mit unzähligen weltbekannten Musikern die
Bühne: The Wailers, Manu Dibango(R.I.P.), Maxi Priest, Ziggy Marley & The
Melody Makers, Alpha Blondy, Third World, Santana, Burning Spear, Kool and
the Gang, Osibisa, Yellowman, Bunny Wailer, Lucky Dube,(R.I.P.) Steel Pulse.
Auch als Begleitband für Eek-a-Mouse, Dawn Penn & Co u.a. sind sie immer mit
Begeisterung dabei.
Nach einigen personellen Wechseln im Lauf der Jahre spielen wir jetzt
wieder in einer Formation, mit der wir nahtlos an unsere beste Zeit
anknüpfen und auch wieder neue Dinge ausprobieren können. Mit neuem
Drive und frischer Energie werden wir den Festival Sommer 2021 rocken,
denn Vitamin X steht seit 40 Jahren für Qualität und Zuverlässigkeit, was
von Veranstaltern sehr geschätzt wird. Das Publikum hingegen weiß unsere
Show zu schätzen, die auch den letzten Tanzmuffel hinter dem Ofen
hervorlockt.
